On February 15, 2013 at about 11:30 a.m. Gimli RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of an attempted robbery at a financial institution in Winnipeg Beach. Initial investigation indicates a lone male armed with a knife entered the premises demanding cash before fleeing empty-handed. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as about 5′ 10″ tall, wearing a snowmobile suit and balaclava.
