On the 23rd of June 2014, the Melita RCMP detachment received a complaint of a break and enter into a local business. During the course of investigation it was learned that the Melita Rona Hardware Store had been broken into sometime between the 22nd, of June and the morning of the 23rd. Entry was gained through the rear door. Once in the business the suspect(s) took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect(s) attempted to gain entry into the stores safe but was unsuccessful.
