Just before 9:30 PM on December 4, 2013, Central Plains RCMP were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at Mike’s 5th Avenue Grocery Store in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Police arrived within minutes of the initial call. Portage la Prairie Police Dog Service was contacted and attended to assist with the investigation. Investigation revealed that two males entered the business one of which was brandishing a knife.
The suspects fled the location without any cash or merchandise, heading towards 4th Avenue NE. No injuries were reported.
The suspects are described as both male each with a medium build and each stood approximately 5′ 7″ tall. Both males had their faces completely masked with balaclavas. One suspect was wearing a white jacket and gloves and had an English accent. The second male was wearing a red and black checkered jacket and was also wearing gloves. The incident was caught on video surveillance.
