On June 30, 2012 at about 5:00 a.m, RCMP Central Plains as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a residence fire on Long Plain First Nation. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze, and investigators were able to determine there was no one in the residence at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. The Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner attended to assist with the investigation.
