On Monday, May 13, 2013 Portage la Prairie RCMP and Portage la Prairie Fire Department responded to a number of fires on the west side of St. Ambroise, Manitoba. Woodlands Fire Department, Manitoba Conversation and The Office of the Fire Commissioner assisted in the investigation. The fires were located along Provincial Road 83 and 84 in the RM of Portage la Prairie. The fires had posed a potential endangerment to a number of homes and structures around St. Ambroise. No injuries were reported with this incident. The Office of the Fire Commissioner deemed that the fires were not accidental.
