On May 17, 2014, at 4:00 am, Powerview RCMP responded to a fire at the St. Georges Museum in St. Georges, Manitoba. The centre building of the three museum buildings was fully engulfed when officers arrived at the scene. The other two buildings sustained water and smoke damage. The fire was put out by the local fire department. The RCMP is investigating this incident with the assistance of the Office of the Fire Commissioner. This matter is being investigated as an arson.
