On July 1st, 2014 Steinbach RCMP attended AD PENNER Park for a complaint of a fire. Steinbach Fire department had extinguished a number of garbage cans that were set on fire at both washroom sites in the park. Damage was minimal but could have been severe if not promptly extinguished. It appears that the suspects were riding bicycles and had left the scene prior to emergency services attending.
