On July 21st, 2016 at approximately 7:10 in the evening, three youths were on an ATV Trail near the Village of Middlebro. One youth was on a mini bike, another on a bicycle and the third was walking. They were traveling northbound on the ATV Trail which runs between Main Street and Road 2N situated at the north end of the village. As they came to where the trail opens up to Road 2N they observed a vehicle parked on the portion of the trail situated on the north side of Road 2N.
The vehicle was described as a black extended cab pick-up truck, which was raised and had a chrome grill along with aggressive tread tires. One of the youths noticed the driver’s side front door open and heard a low pitched sound which was followed immediately by the 10 year old being struck in the leg by a projectile believed to be a small caliber round which penetrated and lodged in the leg. The youths immediately left the area, made their way home and called 911.
