On May 30, 2018, at 12:40 pm, the Selkirk RCMP received a report of a missing 66-year-old male from the RM of St. Clements. Vernon Karl Otto was last seen on May 29, 2018, at 1:00 pm, working in his field near his residence located near Stead, MB. At 5:30 pm, on May 30th, 2018, the Selkirk RCMP, and RCMP Major Crime Services, located Otto’s burnt pickup truck a short distance from his residence. He was last known to be operating this vehicle on May 29, 2018. The RCMP considers Otto’s disappearance suspicious.
Otto is described as Caucasian, 6’2”, 200 pounds, blue eyes, and gray balding hair. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a gold watch, and black casual shoes. Otto’s truck is described as a 2005 White Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab with grey decals on the box (similar to the one pictured).
